HOW TO GET TO THE RANCHES
The best way to get to Rio Grande Ranchos is to drive in your own car, so you can really see and enjoy this entire unspoiled area.
The routes listed above are designed for the easiest travel over the largest highways. There are numerous scenic routes on smaller well-maintained state and national highways. Please contact us prior to your departure and we will be pleased to advise you of alternate routes. You can also fly into the San Luis Valley via United Express out of Denver. Rental cars are available at the Alamosa Airport. Advance reservations are required. You are welcome to visit Rio Grande Ranchos on your own at any time. Our visitor information office is located adjacent to the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado State Highway 159 at 404 Miranda Ave, Fort Garland, Colorado. Please contact our reresentative and she will be pleased to arrange a convenient date and time for your tour. DESCRIPTION OF THE RANCHES Each Ranch is 5 acres or larger in size. Each Ranch has been surveyed, platted and staked with all plats recorded with the Costilla County Clerk and Recorder. PROPERTY TAXES You will be billed for property taxes on your Ranch in February of each year. The tax on each Ranch in 2007 was approximately $40.00. TITLE Rio Grande Ranches of Colorado, Inc., will issue you a Warranty Deed when you have completed the payments on your Ranch. If you desire a title insurance policy at that time, you can obtain one at your own request and expense from a local title insurance agent. Distances indicated are from the location mentioned to the center of the Rio Grande Ranchos Subdivision.
